Breathwork

Breathwork

Are You Looking To Get More Out Of Your Life And Experiences?

Are you in a transitional time in your life? Perhaps you are at a crossroads and not sure how to move forward.

Yet, instead of seeking surface-level answers, are you hoping for deep-rooted transformational, spiritual, and healing insight?

My breathwork offers a journey to better understand yourself so you may release stored trauma in the body. Our Western Culture often values intellect over our intuition and emotions. This practice allows us to move beyond our “thinking” minds to become fully attuned and aware in our bodies. Breathwork allows us to develop a profound mind-body connection in a way that can offer deep and meaningful healing from individual distress, as well as generational and systemic trauma.

What Is Breathwork And Who Is It For?

Derived from ancient wisdom, breathwork is an active and transformational meditation. It employs a specific breathing technique. Through this technique, the conscious (“thinking”) mind is able to relax so that the subconscious (“feeling”) mind can be accessed. As the brain decompresses, emotions move more freely. Difficult feelings such as grief, anger, sadness, and fear then have the opportunity to loosen and rise to the surface.

As awareness to these stagnant energies is met with breath, a healing movement can take place. Our breath is the fuel for this movement. Through this process, we develop deeper self-love and elevate our innate wisdom. By making room for more expansive observations of subconscious thoughts and feelings, breathwork can have a psychedelic and mind-altering effect.

Anyone experiencing any kind of block in their life can benefit from breathwork. It’s particularly useful for those at an existential crossroads or looking to feel more embodied in their purpose and creative center. Breathwork meditation is deeply vulnerable work, but dedication to growth is the only prerequisite.

Breathwork At Transform the Nest

Breathwork sessions can be done virtually or in-person, and is available to individuals, couples, and groups. Though I’m a licensed and trained counselor, breathwork is not therapy and can thus be offered without limitations around location or conflicts of interest.

I first experienced the power of breathwork in graduate school and witnessed the transformational potential in my life and the lives of my peers. I completed training with David Elliott, who developed his integrative approach to pranayama breathwork in 2001, and I love sharing this powerful healing modality with my clients.

Unlock Your Innate Wisdom

The most amazing part of breathwork is that it is self-led. Utilizing this technique can result in a deeper understanding of your inner self and how to heal her. With the insights you gain through breathwork, you are likely to feel more relaxed, confident, and at peace. Instead of feeling caught up or stuck in the past, you will be able to move forward to create the life you wish for yourself.

An Ancient, Holistic Healing Journey

Breathwork is a powerful tool and gateway to elevated consciousness—a new way of being and engaging with the world around you. You can find out more about breathwork by reaching out with questions or scheduling a free consultation via my contact page. Sessions are available via telehealth throughout the United States.

What To Expect

Typically, sessions last around 60 minutes, with 20 to 30 minutes devoted to the breathwork practice itself. I ensure that time is set aside at both the beginning and the end of each session so that we have an opportunity for planning and processing. I often utilize guided meditation, open-hearted sharing, or writing to support the active breath. Music will be played as a guide for help to support the practice.

The actual breathwork practice is simple, and I facilitate it with you lying down as I guide you through the transformational breathing meditation. Each breath is through the mouth and comprised of three steps: inhalation into the abdomen, inhalation into the chest, and exhalation through the mouth. As alkalized oxygen increases and blood acidity reduces, the hypothalamus gland is further stimulated and releases endorphins throughout the body. With endorphins flowing and emotions moving freely, consciousness is elevated and expanded.

To lengthen and sustain the healing process, I encourage an ongoing breathwork routine. I will provide you with the resources to sustain your practice. If, following our breathwork session, you’d like to see me in counseling, I will be available through Transform the Nest for Colorado residents. In addition, I offer monthly Healing Circles, where transformational breathwork meditation meets community. You can learn more about these circles here:
